High School Official

NEW OFFICIALS Girls Lacrosse 2023 SVWLOA CHECKLIST - Updated 1.6.2023

Complete USA Lacrosse registration online. Make sure it is for an official and that you request

Girls High School Rule Book. Books come from USA Lacrosse so please call them If you have not gotten
one. It is required. https://www.usalacrosse.com/

Pass the Girls High School Rules test online at USA Lacrosse.
Complete the 8-hour requirement for classroom instruction. Location: Norfolk Academy Dates: Jan. 31st /Feb.2nd/ Feb.7th and 9th (all times 6-8pm). To register email: svwloa@gmail.com
Complete on-field training (required) Dates: Field Training will be Feb 11 and Feb 18th. Time:8am – 12pm at Norfolk Academy. You must attend one day, but both are recommended. This is where we will put the classroom learning to the field. To register email: svwloa@gmail.com
Complete the online USA LACROSSE required course and other mandatory requirements. CheckUSA Lacrosse for new official requirements.

Complete Local Board registration by emailing your USA Lacrosse number to Lisa Millar
Pay $25 fee for manual, cards, and flag. Cash or Check to Lisa Millar
Pay Dues to SVWLOA $25
Pass the On-field test. February 25th at Norfolk Academy. 8:30 to 1:00.
There is a Level 1 course available on USA Lacrosse and while not mandatory highly recommended.
YOU must supply your USA Lacrosse member number to Lisa Millar by email before you can attend classes or training. Email Lisa Millar at svwloa@gmail.com

UNIFORM
1. Black and White striped 1 inch stripped shirt. Find on line or at Dicks
2. Black under shirt if worn
3. Black athletic pants (NO RUNNING TIGHTS/LEGGINGS), black Kilt or black skort
4. Black socks and mostly black shoes
5. Whistle, flag, cards: Yellow, Red, and Green
6. Black Jacket – it will be cold at the beginning of the season.
7. Black visor or black hat
8. Rule book/rule summary sheets provided in class

Junior/ Youth Official

New or Returning Junior Official Checklist

February 26, 2023 - HRSC Hampton Roads Soccer Complex 12 – 5 Mandatory. Instructions and requirements to attend the Feb 26, 2023 Training Event include:

New Officials. Bring your registration fee: $25.00 cash or check made out to Lisa Millar
Everyone Bring your SVWLOA dues: $25.00 cash or check made out to SVWLOA
Wear your 1 inch black and white striped shirt ready for field. Can be found on amazon or atDicks
Dress for weather. Bring your own water and a snack and a pen or pencil.
Returning Officials. If you want a hard copy manual, it will be $10.00 cash or check to Lisa Millar. Email request to Lisa Millar at SVWLOA@gmail.com
Remember, being on time is a vital part of being a good official.

Most games takes place on Saturdays either at Hampton Roads Soccer Complex or in Williamsburg at Warhill fields. The games are scheduled throughout the day. If you are not able to work on most Saturdays then this will not be a good fit.

3/25 Mandatory Training and Makeup
The first league weekend 3/25/2023 will be at HRSC. This is where the follow up training and rating will take place and is Mandatory for everyone. Those finished with their requirements will be paid for games.

4/29 - ALL Teams – Divisional Day @ HRSC & Warhill
5/6 - ALL Teams @ Warhill
5/13 - ALL Teams @ HRSC
5/20 - Crush Classic @ HRSC
Once you complete all of your tasks, you will be entered into the ARBITER system and will need to fill out your payroll tab. To do this, you must have a bank account and routing number. This is the only way to receive payment for work.
